My friend is getting a house in the spring...(fyi; we're still in school) and he was very careful in telling me that it's going to be an open house and that whenever i need to get away and crash, the door will always be open.

I don't have a problem with sleeping over at his house. he's more of a gentlemen than anyone else you will meet these days...(no seriously, a guy tried to grab my butt and my buddy smacked him across the face whispered something in his ear and i never heard from that creep again). he's like my protector.

why would people (like my family) freak out at me for sleeping at his house? I don't understand.

FYI; there's nothing sexual or romantic going on between us. We're just good friends.

and my family likes him. He's over for dinner all the time.

Do they know him personally? Have you been sort of "protecting" him from the family? Really unless he has a good line of communication with them, they'll always be suspicious about people that are pretty much strangers to them.
