My theory:

You sit on YA 10 to 14 hours a day, answering questions, debating with people that disagree, asking mundane questions that don't really have any relevance to your life, but they seemed interesting when the question first came into your mind...so you ask and then get upset because nobodies answering you, so you contemplate whether it's all worth it...the Yahoo lifestyle...then you see one question in R&S that sparks your interest and when you read the responses being given you feel all warm inside, so you answer and then every atheist and christian and islamic nut slams you for even thinking you could be wise enough to answer one of their questions with your emotionally ill self...so then you begin to wonder if life is even worth living...so you put a question on one last time that says, "Does anyone out there care at all?"

And you wait for three days with no responses and in the last 15 minutes before the question disappears and the noose you've been working on for three days is complete....one guy answers and with simply...."I care." And all is right again in life. You throw the noose away, you burn your voodoo dolls that have YA user names on them....you open the windows and turn on some lights....you put a new recording on your phone that says...."I'm so happy, but I'm not here, so leave a message." Then you start looking for that new question, that one that will fill your life with some great comfort and joy...with just the slightest chance that you could answer and get the "BEST ANSWER"

What do you think?

I was bored and just saw a question about how can you tell if you're emotionally ill, so this was my answer, but I turned it into a question.

Kris
That was great, it made me laugh, which is what I was hoping for out of this. I think this lady needs your thoughts.

I come to Y!A to answer questions because I'm a retired psychologist, and because I have a lot of 'good experience' that can help a lot of people. I answer honestly, and I do get Best Answer, consistently, 13% of the time. I do read to see which questions my answer was 'best' at answering, and I have my own 'best answers' list made up of those I really doubted would be chosen but that I KNEW I had the best answer to. Those are about 40% of the 13%. I'm a 'researcher of odd things' so that's the only real reason I do this ... but, for many people, it could be that 'best answer' either to their question, or from their answer, that gives them hope ... if not from me, then from someone else. Trolls be darned ... if I had my way we would LOVE them out of existence. As for you ... take heart, and keep coming here ... and don't try to kill yourself, or do 'voodoo' or anything really 'weird' without checking here to see if you're 'insane' and need to see a therapist, or are just 'crazy' the way I am. I do CARE ... I hope it shows, whether you vote me your Best Answer or not.

I care. I look for questions I think I can reasonably answer. I skip a lot of questions about celebrities (I don't know most of them), and will not argue about religion (I'm not Jewish, Christian or Moslem).
If I see a question that I think is honest, and can contribute, I will. One thing, I work all day, so I don't visit this site as often as if I was home.
