I've been turned back at the canadian border on two separate occasions because of a DWI arrest 4 years ago. I play hockey in Canada often. If I try again, can I be arrested, is it likely, or can i apply for a temporary resident permit at the border once rejected? What to do?

Actually, I'm surprised they didn't tell you this: if your bring ALL of your court papers stating that you have completed EVERYTHING the courts required you to, to the border and they will review the information. Expect to spent an hour or two, it's a pain but they will allow to travel back and forth after this.

I have had a similar experience. You can get a form from a Canadian Consulate Office. Fill it out and submit it. If approved you will not be listed in the computer as undesirable.

I went up to Red Deer to work for a week many years ago. The DWI came up while being questioned. You would have thought the sky had fallen the way the guy reacted. I was not kicked out, just told I could not return. If you are on their ground when you try it is their call what they do.

it is what would desire to take place to be charged with DUI in my state (you probably did no longer checklist yours). The officer lawfully contacts your motor vehicle (for a site visitors violation). - employing the incorrect way Upon touch with the motive force the officer suspects DWI (speech, breath, eyes, hand strikes etc) the motive force is given the possibility to pass field sobriety exams and circulate on their way (25% of the time). the motive force fails or refuses roadside exams and would desire to be arrested. the motive force is given the determination of breath or blood attempt. If the motive force fails the breath or blood attempt their license is suspended for 7 months (yet after 30 days can prepare for a purple license). in the event that they decline the attempt the license is suspended for 300 and sixty 5 days (first offense) 24 months (2nd offense) without probability for purple license. the motive force is issued a courtroom summons. the motive force is issued a DMV revocation observe. for the duration of a common DUI the miranda warning isn't examine at any time. In my branch we regularly tow the motor vehicle - yet now and lower back no longer. If he develop into off accountability he probable did no longer prefer to concern with the extra workplace work. some larger departments make the main of particular DUI enforcement officers - so as that if a detective (with no super sort of journey with DUI) desires help the DUI officer comes out and does the sphere attempt, breath attempt and proper workplace work. What did the clerk say approximately "refusal", she would have meant which you refused the breath attempt which might subject you to harsher effects from DMV????? Did you get any workplace work in any respect? In my branch if the officer would not provide you a value tag or written warning then they might desire to offer you a business enterprise card with their call and worker extensive sort on it. on an identical time as the officer writes costs on your value tag or summons - it is actual the prosecutor that costs you with the crime. Your felony expert would desire to call down - or possibly look it up on line to work out what you have been charged with. i'm making of venture it is going to take a week to get the workplace work executed - if the detective did no longer comprehensive it that nighttime.
