Honey, your just at the peak of your back hurting while you are pregnant. I had a previous back injury and when I was pregnant... I thought I was going to die!!! I asked my doctor what I could do, and he told me that I could use any thing like icy hot, ben-gay, any thing to help relax your muscles. Its ok for you to put it on your back, but NEVER put it on your tummy! It could soak in to your baby and really harm him/her. Also too, if you want you can take only warm baths. If you take hot baths, it will cause you to have contractions prematurely, and you can lose your baby. So just make sure its warm only. That is what I did for my achy back!! I hope that I was a help!! Good luck and congradulations!! P.S. Never use a heating pad while you are pregant... it can make you have premature contractions...

Have you tried a chiropractor? I had never been to one until earlier in this pregnancy. I was holding my toddler daughter and bent to put her down...YIKES! By that night I literally couldn't walk. It took me 10 minutes, in tears, slink out of bed onto my hands and knees and crawl to the bathroom. I called the on-call OBGYN who said I could take Extra strength Tylenol, which helped me sleep at least.
I called a chiro first thing in the morning. He worked on me a little while. I walked out and withing 2 days was totally pain free.
Many women go to the chiro weekly during pregnancy. Your back is and pelvic/hip area is taking a beating right now and it will only get worse. I would at least try a visit.
Worst case scenario, get your doctor involved so you can get put on disability. I know that doesn't solve your problems at work, but at least your bills will get paid.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? He or she could put you on disability and you would be getting at least part of your pay.
