Because we can build better incinerators and disposal sites ourselves, and control the process. Dropping them into volcanoes might simply scatter them.

because of the fact the risky areas might come proper returned out. it is likewise not sparkling that volcanic incineration may well be warm adequate to sterilize rubbish. based on the Environmental safety company, scientific waste ought to continuously be burned off at greater beneficial than a million,600 levels Fahrenheit, with some states requiring temperatures of a million,800 or 2,000 levels to cut back risky organic and organic emissions. that is a superb worse concept to toss nuclear waste right into a volcano. Combustion won't have any impact on spent nuclear gasoline, nor will it cut back the radioactivity of low-point waste like toxin heavy clothing and kit. in basic terms like the incineration of scientific waste, this produces risky emissions that would pop proper out of a volcano.

There are two problems with this.

1. Volcanoes aren't usuallya hole with a pool of lava right sitting right there so you can't always drop things far into them.

2. As the other person pointed out, dropping the nuclear waste into the volcano could cause radioactive particles to be scattered into the atmosphere, where they could pose a danger to millions of people.

sure. but there are not a lot of active volcanoes near me.

and then you have to think about if this were the better idea, then you will need companies to store hazardous wastes until it can be shipped to the nearest volcano. and then you'd want to accumulate a certain amount of cargo for shipping and all that stuff.

much easier to contract a local biohazard disposal company for more timely incineration.

Perhaps medical waste, but not nuclear waste. Do you really want a I-131 shower with the next volcanic eruption?
