I have a 2 year old golden retriever/border collie named Sparky and a 5 month old toy rat terrier named Swivel. They are both great dog, both very smart. Sparky is a little more laid back than Swivel is. Swivel is a typical terrier and is very active and hyper. The get along great together and play and sleep together. Sparky has come along really great since we first got him at 7 months old. He was abused before we got him. For a long time he was scared of men and and of things like long sticks, belts, leashes. But you could never tell he was ever abused now. He warms up to people really well now and doesn't show any of his fears that he had when we first got him. He is the greatest dog I have ever owned. Listen well, obeys well, and the only time he has ever made a mess is when he is sick. We have even left him in the house for 28 hours when we had an emergency trip to take and he had no one to let him out but we never found one single mess. He sure had to go when we got home. He has been around my youngest son since my son was 11 months old and he just now turned 3 and he lets him climb on him and everything and has never even growled at him.

I have a Rottweiler girl, she is a gorgeous dog. I have four children and she is very gentle with them, but will stand guard over them when there are 'strangers' in the house - that is why I don't let other kids play around her, just in case she thinks they pose a threat and act accordingly.. I would not punish her for 'making her presence felt' .Gem is our second Rottie and I have found that they can be very 'immature' in certain ways. Sort of 'slow to grow-up'. Although she is fully KC registered and has a 5 generation pedigree, we have not bred from her...she is now 6 and maybe that's too old for a first litter? I'd love to have kept a pup from her.
If we move to a property with a bit of land, I would like to get a couple of Newfoundlands too. My husband would like to get a couple of black Labs for hunting, I wouldn't mind having those either! I'd have a bloody house full, what with four children - I'd never be able to have some peace!

We pretty much have a mutt. We know for sure he's part Chow, part sheep dog and some sort of terrier mix. He looks like Chewbacca, only black-haired. When we shave him down, he looks a lot like a black lab. His hair grows back within two month's time!
Anyway, he's great with people he knows. Very territorial. Very hyperactive (thank gawd for a big back yard). Very protective of the kids. He doesn't crave attention, doesn't get jealous of the cat.
All in all, he's a great watch dog who's fun to play with. He weighs about 80 pounds, and is considered a medium-sized dog.

We have 2 boxers, one of which was adopted a year ago, the other whom we have had for nearly 8 years.
The one who is adopted is the Cowardly Lion! He actually has a tail, which has a mind of it's own. His face is a little crooked and he has some weird eye scars, which we suspect is from his previous owners, but he's a hoot. He's crazy, and hyper, he's 85 pounds but he acts like a puppy and trots like a horse!
The other, Zoe, is small and does the "kidney bean" when she walks, she's our "comma". She is exactly like a crazy old woman who howls and "talks" to us, but with a little more spunk.

I have two dogs...a 1 year old miniature golden yorkie named Rocky Balboa The Italian Stallion...Rocky for short...and a german shepard mix that is about 9 years old named Champ. They are both the best dogs in the world, I love them. Rocky is very feisty and protective of me and very jealous of Champ. Champ deserves a gold star for his patience with thelittle guy and just has the best laid back personality of any dog. I love them both so very much, their my two boys!

I have a German Shepherd mix and she's a very loving, sweet dog.
The smartest dog that I ever owned was a Blue Heeler and Chow mix. The dog was a genius.

I have a German Shepperd Beagle mix, and a puppy that I am not exactly what kind of dog she is(maybe part Collie)
Behavior of German/Beagle:
She is definitely the alpha-dog of the house, guard dog behavior, protective, etc.
Behavior of the unknown(just kidding):
We got her pretty recently, but from what I have observed, she just has puppy-like behavior(playful, sweet, teething, etc.)

I have a yellow lab and golden retreiver mix, he is 4 yrs old. And I have a 9yr old rat terrier, she is the diva of the house. Our lab mix is very sweet, but a bit needy when it comes to love and affection. The rat terrier is just down right mean, if she doesn't like you she'll snap, growl and tense up.
