ask yourself - does there really have to be a reason for anything? That is why life is beautiful to me - because it has no reason. So many people ask this question. What is the meaning of life? It's different for everyone. When I get stuck in a rut and nothing seems interesting anymore, I try to break out of the cycle by changing one small thing about my day. Take a different route home from work/school. Change the brand of tooth paste you use. Ride a bus to some strange part of the city you haven't explored... Every little change you make will snowball until suddenly you find that you have changed a lot more than you thought possible. If it's still not interesting, ok no matter, just try something else. Sex IS boring when you are doing it just to be doing it. Try going without for a set amount of time. (brings to mind a certain movie I saw about a guy that takes an oath of celibacy for Lent - you should see that movie! I can't remember the title tho...) Anywho, get off your computer and turn on some different music that you haven't bothered to listen to in a while or that you never tried. You just might discover that you like it, and life for that matter. Oooo you should try Zydeco music. It's hard NOT to be happy while listening to that! :)

hey, there. never give up on yourself. life
is a blessing, so take full advantage of it.
even though you may not believe it, you are very
important simply because you are a person. you
have the power to do great things, and you can
really make a difference if you try.

why don't you pick a hobby? and not just
a regular hobby, but a passion. something that
you really love. try painting, writing, playing a
sport, taking up an instrument etc.

you could try volunteering also. when i feel down
in the dumps, i always look for volunteering
opportunities because it makes you feel like you've
done something helpful for the world. it makes you
feel like a true, productive member of society.

try finding a religion that suits you, whichever that
one may be. don't go for the religion that you think
will get you liked the most, or will make you most
popular. instead, really try to read up on each religion,
compare their beliefs to yours, and try to find out
if they are a good fit for you. then, once you find one,
try to become an active member of the religious
community. i find i can really become passionate
about my religion when i want to. (i am catholic. many
people disapprove of catholics, but i have come to
realize that this is not my problem. i love my religion,
and if someone else gives me problems about it, it means they are intolerant and hateful and i do not want to associate myself with those kinds of people).

again, helping others is always a WONDERFUL
way to give your life meaning. even just being on
yahoo answers gives you opportunities to help others
from over 30 different countries around the world!
just think of all the lives you could change for the
better.

i think you should at least stop with the drinking,
because it clouds your mind and can make people
do crazy things. a little alcohol when you go out is
fine, but you shouldn't make it a daily activity.

and always use protection when having sex
(i know, you've already experienced sex ed in school, lol)

just remember that you matter to the people
around you. sometimes the smallest thing you
do can change someone's life drastically, and
you'd never even know it. think about that.

if you EVER want to talk, don't be afraid
to e-mail me. i'm glad to help.

now get out there and live life the
way you want to. =]

It's not that there isn't anything interesting about life, it's that you've gotten mentally lazy! There is an infinite amount of adventures out there, you just need to get off the computer and go out and find them. Go bungi jumping. Learn how to fly. Get a camera and make indie films. Teach somebody something. Learn how to surf/ski/skateboard/rollerblade. Get a catalog from a community college and take a course in something you wouldn't normally consider. Join a gym. Learn how to flyfish. Go mountain biking.

That's just off the top of my head in a few moments. You can do the same thing. Life is as interesting and fulfilling as you make it.

well.... do u really want to die without having made SOME contribution to this World? I used to feel suicidal when I was a teenager.
But, the thought of dying after having just lived like a parasite off my parents and giving nothing back to the World that's given me so much made me change my mind.
I am sure there is a lot more for you in this World. I see your name is "Loner S" i am a loner too..... I know how you feel.

I can tell you with confidence that what you are feeling is temporary. Like a lot of people will tell you....turn to God.
He will give you the strength to fight these negative emotions.

When you feel the need to stop for a moment to rest on the road to “Your Goal of life,” set a clock.
Do not wait until you feel like starting again, for you may not for a long time.
You have to want it, so don't wait for it.

Do not fear the unknown you will never know what is out there. Face your fears with a smirk; tell it to get out of your way.

Get out of your comfort zone and make another one closer to your goal in life.
You are capable of more than you know; you just have to find out how much by trying new things everyday.

Suicide is stupid, how do you know that the afterlife is any better if not worse? Try meditating. Listen to soft or happy music. Give out gifts, I don't know about you, but giving always makes me happy. Just remember that material things and sex don't always make you happy. Try to enjoy the simple things in life. If all else fails, Get counseling. Hope you're okay. Peace! :)

i actually was in your position 4 months ago, i drank and OD on pills, i was found and they had to revive me.. now its the dumbest thing i could have done. I was in a facility for a few months, i have learned a few things.. First medication, it helps with the imbalance. secondly its the mind set, i lost everything, 5 year relationship, money, house, job and myself... i got out and had to get everything, and love every day of it.. I realized i can't find happiness with anything around me, and no one or any thing can define who i am. it is the spirit, my power within and only within. i had to love myself, corny i know. the key was i didnt feel productive in society, and making a difference.i have less than i did before, and i am happier than ever. with a good attiutide things seem to come to me, and lots of counseling... there are several other things too, but iam not going to rant and rave..but there is a way other than suicide.

I have heard this question a lot, people trying to find a purpose for life. What you need is God. Some people who don't know him don't understand. God is always searching to find a relationship with you, and he wants you to accept him. You should ask God to come into your life, to come into your heart. When God comes into your life, it is like a new beginning, you know when it happens. You will become happier, you will find reasons for living. Everything will be a whole lot easier and you will have God by your side. Remember, God already loves you, even if you don't accept him, he is always looking out for you.

Everything has some interest, at least to me. Look around you. Try to write down as many things as you can that you're thankful for. Find a way to produce positive energy. Pay it forward!! Read a good book. There's no use hurting yourself! Eventually your time will be up anyway! 8-D

Well...First of all you described symptoms of depression. Clinical depression, as well. I have clinical depression and I went through all of that. Umm...What helped me get over my depression (besides pills and therapy which I would definitely suggest) was songwriting. I play the guitar and the piano and I sing and writing lyrics really helped me. If that isn't something you're interested in, simply listening to my favorite music cheered me up during that time. Additionally, writing poetry or just writing anything in general. I hope that helps. feel free to email me anytime you wanna talk.
