i started my current cycle on dec 8. on day 3 of my cycle i started on femara for my polycyctic ovary syndrome.on day 13 of my cycle i went to the dr and had a ultrasound done to check for eggs in my ovaries. on day 14 i started using home ovulation test.on day 14 and 15 of my cycle i only saw the control line on my test. on day 16 am i noticed a second light pink line. i tested again day 16 pm and noticed a little darker pink line then in the am. i tested day 17 am and saw a pink line that was a lil darker. again day 17 pm i tested and the line was lil darker but still not quite as dark as the control line. on day 18 i tested in the am and the second pink line was the same as the control line. i tested on day 19 am and the line was getting lighter. my question is that since i know i ovulated this month how long after the surge can i test to see if i am pregant.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you are approximately on day 20 of your cycle. If you ovulated around day 17, you should probably wait until you are 10 dpo before you start peeing on sticks. I recommend the first response early result tests. Make sure you are getting the early results and not the rapid results, big difference. And remember, it isn't over until aunt flo crashes your party. It may take as long as 16+ dpo to get your bfp.

You should wait about two weeks after ovulation. This is based on the fact that most women ovulate mid-cycle which would be about two weeks after ovulation if you have a 28-30 day cycle. Plus it generally takes a fertilized egg 6 to 12 days to travel to the uterus and attach itself after conception. Depending on the test (definitely read the box) you can test as early as four days before your period is due. To get the best results, definitely wait until the day your period is due. If it doesn't come then test. Test first thing in the morning as your hcg levels peak in the morning. Good luck.

According to your description, you got a positive OPK on 12/25. You ovulate anytime from 12-48 hours after that. Let's assume you ovulated 12/26. That would make you 1 DPO now. I wouldn't start testing any sooner than 12DPO (Jan. 07). 14DPO (Jan. 09) is better.

Good luck.

Some pregnancy test say that they can detect the pregnancy hormone as early as one or two days before your period is supposed to start. Mine never showed up positive until two days after my period was late. I've had three kids.

About 2 weeks or a week after a missed period.

Yes, testing 1 week after you have missed your periods would give you correct results.
Good luck to you.
