No that's what a lease agreement is for. It gives you and the land lord the framework of your and his rights. He may feel he is justified in attempting to evict you based on that agreement you signed.

Laws depend on the state. If you have signed a lease and your landlord is breaking the lease contrary to its terms of agreement, then he is breaking the law. If you do not have a lease then normally he can kick you out for no reason but must give 30 days notice.

If you have a lease he can't evict you unless you violate the lease. If you don't have a lease, or if it's expired, he can evict you on giving you one full rent periods notice (Typically a month)
This is the "general" law.
Some cities have renter protection laws that require a landlord to have a legal reason to evict a tenant who is up-to-date on his rent.

No, and if they want you out for no reason, they can buy out the remainder of your lease, so tell them that and see if they'll pay all that money.

you really only have protection if you have a lease. If not, they can get rid of you for any reason.
