Do you ever thank the person that gave you the best answer either in the comment box or by emailing them (if you can) or both?

Scooter..no nothing is bothering me at all. I was just wondering if anybody ever thanked the person that gave them BA. I always put a thank you in the comment box and then IF their email is not blocked, I thank them their as well.

I was taught to have good manners when I was growing up. So when folks give me BA, I say thank you for it.

I must admit - I have gotten very lazy in this regard :(

I used to always do it, but always wondered if anyone ever saw them since they are hidden.

I have made amends - I went back 5 days and left a comment and thank you for every one of my BA's - thank you for reminding me of this much forgotten way of being nice

I don't email - I don't want somebody to think I'm trying to brown nose my way into another one !!

I do give a lot of stars though - and thumbs up if I agree - don't do thumbs down - who am I to "bad mouth" another person's opinion if I don't agree

I did used to when the comment box was visible, and sometimes even now I do, but I have to wonder if people giving the points for best answer have the time to go back and check.....this is a good question as I have always felt disrespectful not thanking them for choosing my answer, I never thought of sending an email if they allow them, I'm a dumbo...I will always check on that in the future as I am always grateful and feel honored when mine has been chosen...thanks for bringing this up

Sometimes... but not a lot go back and read the comments or the questions just go away and all is lost! Ya just do the best ya can! I generally hand out a lot of stars... as they give others points! I'm not sure if the Thumbs do or not, with the exception of on a best answer!
Is someone or something bothering you Dear?
I'm glad your not being bothered! Lucky you LOL!

Honestly I don't ask that many questions because of the V's... but I'm noticing that I don't get many stars on my questions either, if I do get to decide a best answer and they are all good answers I will look for the stars to see who gave them, if any, and who needs the points the most... it's a balancing act I guess!

I'm also beginning to notice who IS giving folks Thumbs Up on others answers. I respect folks for doing that! As it is as you say polite. And, I think we can all take just a moment to be nice and polite don't you!

This is my rant! LOL

We weren't aware that there was a box to leave a comment! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We try to send emails to say thank you whenever possible. Like you say it is good manners.
We will ensure in future that whenever we get a Best Answer we will always go back to add a thank you comment.
Excellent news to start our Friday off, not everyone has the facility for emails open which we thought was the only way we could say thanx. xx

Yep. I try to send a note direct to them or leave a note in the comment box. I've always done it. I may have missed a few when I got backed up, but I try not to have too many overlapping Q&A's like I used to! If I missed someone, then I wish they'd remind me of the Q so I can check it & make it right!
It would be nice if Yahoo had a feature that sent us notifications when we get a message in the comment box.

I send a comment every now and then. Usually it includes a "Thank you" but there are times when the 300 character limit make you chose between finishing a thought or expressing gratitude. When that happens, I normally finish the thought or sometimes I will fill out two comment blocks.

Yes, I have done this a few times and also received some back from ones I gave. What I think is funny is when a Best Answer is given when only one person answered the question. I got one last week from an answer I left two months previously.

I used to say a 'thank you' in the comment box, but I didn't know if anyone ever read them and after awhile I forgot about doing it. Thanks for reminding us, you are right it's always good to be polite. I do give stars and lots of thumbs up, even on questions I don't answer or in other catagories. I don't give thumbs down.---Luvs
