The Johnny Appleseed legend was based on a man from the 1800s named John Chapman. John Henry really lived; he was a slave born in the 1840s in Alabama. And 'Pecos Bill' was the nickname for a Civil War General named William R. Shafter.

Also, the Bible is considered a myth, but some of the Bible stories have been affirmed by scientific and archaeological finds.

If they were true they would not be myths and legends. Some myths and legends may have an origin in fact, e,g, Atlantis, Sodom & Gomotrrah, Armageddon and Robin Hood, but where this is suspected the reality is so different from the legend/myth that it remains just that and not by any means an accurate portrayal of what might have occurred back in ancient times.
