according to descartes the world we live in is not real and there is a real world apart from this one and everything is controlled by an "evil genius" (kinda like the matrix) and our dreams deceive us for example im dreaming that im falling and when i wake up i feel like i was falling and my heart is beating fast. so if everything is fake how do i prove my existence? descartes said "cogito ergo sum" "i think therefore i am"
