Apparently I left an ink pen in a pair of jeans when they were put in the drier, now I have pen ink all over inside it.

I Use something called "Goof Off". it is a petroleum based product found in the cleaning section. It removes lots of different stains in/on all kinds of items.

Try fingernail polish remover.
Whatever works be sure to let it dry and let the dryer ventilate well before using the dryer.

Laquer thinner removes it quickly. Just rinse very well and let it air out!
