Are you looking for pure speculation without the solid business performance to back it up (like dotcom stocks in the late 1990's)? Then start buying (or in a couple of years) green technology stocks.
If you are looking for high returns with more substance, then invest international - specifically developing nations. An easy way to invest internationally would be through Franklin Templeton Investments (www.franklintempleton.com). They are the leader in international mutual funds, and offer funds that focus on Emerging Markets, China, Developing Markets, and BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) to name a few. Templeton BRIC Fund - Class A earned around 50% for 2007 so far.

I don't think we've seen the full potential of social networking yet, so I think it is still becoming the next big thing. I am interesting in a couple of new Yahoo products that seem to have some potential. There are lots of rumors about Mosh, which something will replace 360. I also just notice Jumpcut and that looks pretty interesting. Personally, I think something like Second Life and other avatar-based role playing games are the next big thing.
