It's On!
Ditka loaded up the bus with McMichael, Dent, Singletary, Fencik, Duerson, Peyton, McMahon and crew from '85 and drove back through the Time Tunnel.
Given that the Patriot's toughest game so far was against Rex Ryan's Raven Defense, how would they do against Buddy Ryan's 46?
Could Da Bearz beat Brady, Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Light, Bruschi, Samuel and the rest of Belichick's Patriots?

Eric-I can't see the Patriots scoring 49 points against that great defense...I do agree with you on one thing:
1989 San Francisco 49ers

Mighty Mo-gotta agree 35-17 Bears sounds about right because you have to consider touchdowns scored after all the turnovers the Bears Defense would cause.

The Bears o-line could handle the Patriots defense, Walter Payton was the best ever, and McMahon was tough enough to not be bullied around by New England's D. With the Fridge running two td's in, the Bears score 35. While Tom Brady and company are friggin' amazing, they never have had to look into Singletary's eyes-what an intimidating sight! The Fridge would have plugged the middle up, and Buddy Ryan would have turned everybody else loose on Brady, I don't think that he would have had time to get the ball to Welker or Moss. The Bears could stop Welker, Moroney, and anybody else New England could throw at them, except Moss. Brady would be harassed all night, with no time to get the ball to Randy Moss. The Patriots score 17. The game ball goes to Richard Dent for his five sacks on the night. Can we all listen to the Super Bowl Shuffle again? 1985 Bears-best ever!

Players are stronger and faster today than they were 20 years ago, so if you adjust for that, the Bears would beat the '07 Pats. The NFL was a tougher league in those days because of no Salary Cap. The '85 Bears had to play the 49ers (won the SB the previous year), Giants (the won the SB the following year), Pats twice, the Rams twice. The '07 Pats have shown that they are vulnerable to a team that has hard hitting safeties and a great running game. The '85 Bears had both.

New England had a bad game against Baltimore. On a great day for both teams, nobody could beat the 2007 Patriots, except the 1989 San Francisco 49ers led by Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.
Most of the time, great defense beats great offense, but that 85 Bears squad is well equipped to STOP teams from scoring more points then them. They are not quipped to shoot it out with teams to see who can score more.
That said, I like New England 49-28.

The 07 Patriots would clobber the 85 Bears, The Offense of New England go after the Bears defense before they do.

yeah the 85 bears could beat them I mean I saw old NFL footage and they looked way more dominating then the pats if it was possible I'd love to see it. Besides how many teams had the Superbowl shuffle video and song.

The Bears, Singletary and Payton are probably the best ever in their positions.

I've got to go with the '85 Bears, they had the defensive speed and hard nose grit to stymie Brady and Moss and with the Punky QB, Sweetness, and Willie Gault they had what it takes on offense too. It would be a helluva game that's for sure.
