I am now a Junior in highschool, and I'm going in to the second semester of the year. My GPA has gone from bad, to worse throughout the 3 years ive been in highschool, and now that i take time to think about it, it really makes me feel like a failure. My gpa freshman year was a 2.8 or something, sophmore was 2.4, and this year its about a 2.0. The reason my grades have fallen is due to personal matters outside of school that make me want to kill, and have almost gotten me killed. These problems are not to be explained to anyone, due to the fact that what I did was illegal, and people would look at me differently. My question is, how bad should I really feel? both my parents have been on my a$$ my whole highschool career, and even though I listened, I never quite took advantage of it. If i got a 4.0 the second semester of my junior year, would that make a significant impact for getting accepted into a somewhat decent college, or should I just do the same as I have been?

I am strongly considereing business, but im not sure if my GPA is good enough to get into a good enough college, and is there a chance that I wont be sucessful even if i make it through college? I feel like I have already failed life and sometimes feel like just completely giving it up, any suggestions? and please be honest, I really want to know how bad Ive messed everything up.

It sounds like you may not get into a good 4-year college right now, even if you do well for one semester, but there is always the option of starting at a community college and transferring once you have an associates degree. You aren't a failure; you have just dealt with some challenges which got in your way. Know that a lot of highly successful people started out badly. I won't tell you my own record in my teens, but I now have two doctorates, so it can be done. You just have to get out of your current situation and pull your life together. It would probably help to have someone to talk to, since keeping all of this in can be extremely stressful.

Under no circumstances should you do what you have been. You need to start on a new life. Realize that people will be wary at first - you won't be able to convince everyone that you have changed right way - but you CAN do it if you stick with it.
