it didnt reached enough votes by the IOC to merit its inclusion to the 2012 Olympics. another reason i could think of is that England who is going to host 2012 Olympics can't form a baseball team.
theres a possibility that baseball could return in 2016 Olympics if US will win the hosting rights.

Because the voting members of the International Olympic Committee are Euro-centric, and most European countries do not play baseball. It is purely a political decision, and a wrong one, because elsewhere in the world, such as North and South America, Asia, and Australia, baseball is very popular.

Something about it being a sport that is dominated by the Americas and southeast Asia.
I think the only reason it got to the games was because, at the time, there was a big North American contingent on the IOC. Now, there isn't.
