There are three main types of blood: A, B, and O.
You have two sets of genes, one from each parent. If you get an A from mum and an A from dad, you will have A type blood.
Your genes types can be:
AA = you have A type blood
BB = you have B type blood
AB = you have AB type blood
AO = A type
BO = B type
OO = O type.
A and B are dominant, and O is recessive. This means that if you have both the A and the O gene, the A will 'dominate' over the O and you will have A type blood. If your mum is AO (A type blood) and your dad is BO (B type blood) then they might have either:
A from mum, O from dad = A type baby
O from mum, B from dad = B type baby
A from mum, B from dad = AB type baby
O from mum, O from dad = O type baby.
In this example, the A and B parents could have an O baby, so you dont always get a blood type the same as your parents.
HOWEVER - you have an A type from O parents - which is impossible. Both your parents are OO, so it is totally impossible for you to get an A gene to give you an A blood type. Either you are adopted, or one of your parents is not your biological parent.
For example, if your mother is OO but she had sex with someone who is AA, then you will be AO and have an A blood type. At least one of your parents is not your biological parent.

No, you have to get the A from at least one parent, and an O type blood, is really OO, meaning they only had an O to give you, so your blood type would be O as well.
Basically you have 2 of each letter, one from each parent. For example AB blood means you got the A from one parent and the B from the other.
Now 2 parents with A blood type could have a child with O blood, since A blood is either AA or AO, and 2 people with B blood could have a child with O blood, since B blood is really BB or BO.
The negative could happen though, as a + blood could be + -, or ++ and if both were + -, and they both passed the - to you, you would be -.
Confusing to explain, but trust me, the sceanrio you give is impossible.
*Found this link that goes over all the possibilities, and it confirms what I'm saying.

no, ignoring the +s and -s, type O is recessive, which means that for anyone to have it, they have to have 2 genes that are o (OO) to get type A blood, one parent would need to be either AO, AA, or AB (to contribute the A gene which would account for your blood type) the first two would present themselves as type A blood, because type A is dominant over type O, and AB would be type AB because A and B are codominant.
so the short answer is: no, this is not genetically possible in any way, shape, or form. You must be somehow misinformed if you believe this is the case in your family.

For parents who are both type A, they can both be either AO or AA. Therefore, they could pass an A or an O to their child and they could have a child with either type A blood or type O blood. This child could not be type B or type AB.

No this is not genetically possible. One parent would have had to give you the charactiristics for A blood. You can check the answer here: http://www.biology.arizona.edu/Human_Bio/problem_sets/blood_types/btcalcA_popup.html

no. you cannot get the A from two parents who do not have it to give to you. ( O is the absence of A and B)
