Absolutely. I can be alone for days on end and not give it a second thought. My ex-husband has to surround himself with people most all of the time. . . . .especially those who worship him.

I think some people are better able to handle being alone than others but I wouldn't make any generalizations about it according to gender. I've known men that did not do well alone and men who did, same with women. I don't see what being a man or woman has to do with it. However, I would say that most people have a difficult time being alone for long periods. Humans are instinctually social creatures. I know some people can adapt well to being alone but I would say that most can not.

I can only speak for myself, and this question could go two ways, as in can a woman handle living alone or just being alone, my husband works a lot and is gone all the time, so I'm here with the kids, no adults most of the time. As far as living alone, I'd hate that and wouldn't be able to sleep, because I don't like being alone all the time...

Depends on the woman, some I'd say after meeting them are better off alone, others are well let the man leave and whoa! She'll be out the door looking for another just like that...

Hell yeah! We seem to get to a point in life where we like our freedom and independence, they seem to like to have someone there to wait on them and all that stuff. Although I do wish I could feel that big bear hug from 600 miles away, I am liking my freedom, not having someone always telling me what to do and when to do it, all that, it is kind of nice I have to admit! Then again I've never really been alone, I've been with my husband since I was 17 so this is a first for me. And I'm not really alone, I have my 2 babies here with me!

That is a tough question... all I can say is that of old people I know who have lost a spouse, the women usually fare better than the men... but that is MY experience.

No, I think we have it in our minds that a man means stability. I don't feel that way but I do love having my husband around for emotional support.
Let's face it, girls, we love our men and we want them around.

no because women need that emotional bond with a man whereas a man doesn't feel the need to have that.
