Why are Democrats against being called this?

Why are Democrats against being called "commies" or likened to Communists by others?
They shouldn't be offended because thats what they are. They support Communist policies in the government.

I would not be offended if someone called me a "commie" and I was.

Really? I'm far from being a Commie....I hate dictatorships and love the Constitution and the rule of law....every line of the Bill of Rights is important to me....How can you call someone who believes that the original framers were inspired a Commie...The Constitution is what separates us from the rest....you can't pick and choose what parts of it you like and what parts you will ignore.

How important is the Constitution to you? Or do you think it's arcane and should be rewritten to accommodate your views?

Is this intended to be a serious question? It can't be, because it goes in so many wrong directions. I do believe it is Democrats that try to make everything equal to help all US citizens have the same opportunities in this country. It is not to suppress and hold back society like say that of our current administration. Open up the blinders and realize the situation we are dealing with now, and if it continues in this direction. Communism is that of stripping people of their freedoms (patriot act sound familiar here?). It is designed to have one group of people control the rest and create govt owned companies that everyone would work at for small meaningless wages. Remember the bread lines in the Former Soviet Union and you will start to see what direction our great leaders have us headed in right now. Unaffordable resources reducing us to bread lines. Republicans love to cut them taxes to sell debt to other countries. However this has since been proven a wrong method with examples from the housing market and foreign investors dumping as quick as possible. Cut them taxes but raise the prices, doesn't this equate to making them rich while starving the govt? Commie's you say, please, realize what the word means before throwing it around.

Why would democrats be offended?

--- redistribution of wealth is out of Marxist's book
--- gun control has been a tool of communism since it started
--- divide the have & has nots is another communist strategy
--- using the media to cause hate and lies another communist tool
--- liberals have told me that their "new communism" is better
--- liberals have supported every enemy of the USA since as long as I have been alive
--- A Democratic president selling secrets to Communist China as well as getting donations to run his campaign
--- Democratic president and liberals calling Stalin "Uncle Joe" while him and his buddy Beria exterminated approximately 30 million Russians
--- Had fought all US tactics to undermine their beloved Soviet Union

This is just to name a few.

And last but not least, EVERY DEMOCRAT running for President in the last 4 to 6 elections have been endorsed by all existing Communist regimes as well as this site that directs liberal democrats to vote the party line http://www.cpusa.org

Liberal democrats have voted for the EXACT candidates that the beloved communist have recommended/endorsed.
