Unlike the poster above, if you are capable of towing a small trailer from U-Haul, that's the way to go. If you have a wimpy car that a hitch can't be mounted on, I had one a Saturn SL-2. Possible trade for a larger vehicle, if that's in you future and do the trailer thing.

Other wise, either have a garage sale, have a furniture broker bid on it or give it to a charitable organization for a big tax wright-off. Then you purchase new furiture and enjoy it.

One room? Best thing to do is sell it. There was a time when we moved furniture to Dearborn, MI stayed 3 years and moved it back East into storage at way, way less than the furniture cost us. Today, the freight bill will kill you. Sell the one room in KC and buy in San Diego.
