Ok Here is my problem..my husband changed on me. He was always nice, overly caring (like worried if my jacket is not warm enough, making sure i remembered my gloves, etc) Now he became obsessive about the house..like I left a book out and he freaked that he has to be the one to put it away, my sister came over and did not take the shoes off..he started mopping the floor as soon as she left, freaking out while the kids are eating because they are getting crumbs on the floor..even though I am standing right there and I say to him I will clean it as soon as they are done..no sense in cleaning while they are eating, i put the dishes in the dishwasher and he takes them out and washes them...he was never like this and all of a sudden he is angry, complaining loudly to himself..Did he develop a compulsive disorder? he will not talk to me or see a therapist and I don't know how much longer I can hang in !

Either he see's a doctor and gets on meds or you have to decide how much you can take. It does sound like he is obsessive. I hate to think how this is affecting the children as well. Somewhere, somehow his chemistry has changed. Why is he so adament about seeing a physician? Might just be a matter of meds to resolve this.

It sounds like he put on the glitz when he was wooing you. Now that you have his name, his real character comes out to stay permanently. Sorry about that. It sounds like you two might consider talking about this together and if it cannot be resolved, please consider a marriage counselor to help you understand him better. He might even need to see someone on an individual basis. I do not have a professional mental health career but it sounds like possesive compulsive. Good luck!

hes a neat freak, needs to work on those issues with a therapist cause nothing will ever be clean enough for him, and nobody likes the clean freaks, talk to him, or have someone else tell him about this, he obviuosly wont listen to you, or try reverse phsycology, instead of keeping everything clean, have it all messed up, it will really freak him out, but it maybe help him snap out of it

actually i have a slob for a husband. he claims he is like that because his father is just like your husband. i CANNOT STAND that man. he is way to anal about things like vaccuuming 3 times a day and NOTHING can be out of its spot, nothing can be left on the coffee table, my kids could only eat at the kitchen table and could not make even the slightest bit of mess. (they are 3 and 1). i would have cleaned up after them of course but he wouldnt even let it get to that point. completely rediculous. he wouldnt even let my kids be kids and thats not right.

He needs to talk to his physican to see if he indeed has developed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Talk to him about your concerns, offer to go with him, or tell him you have to leave. You can call his doctor and express your concerns as well, he may not be able to discuss his specifics with you (HIPPA laws) but he may offer advice. Good luck!

my husband had mental health issues too. he changed while we were married. i think the stress of marriage and kids made his condition deteriorate. i wish i could tell you something more positive, but honestly after years of trying to get him to get help, i am now in the process of divorcing him. i just couldn't take it anymore. you have to do what is best for your situation. divorce is just what i had to do. best of luck to you.
