What a shame that this great leader had to die?

What motivated her killers? And were they sympathetic to the Musharraf regime? Or would they want to see it gone?

People blow themselves up for religious and other ideals, not for the love of a military leader. Musharraff will be regretting her death, as it will push sentiments away from him, and will remind him that he, too, may be a target. I imagine that, if he does not act carefully to unite Pakistan peacefully, the society will disintegrate into rioting, with extremism coming to the fore.
I didn't see her as a great leader, but she was popular, and her death will do Pakistan no good.

These people who did this are insane people , who are not into religion neither political . They are maybe in a certain group of cultist or renegades who just want to be recognize and because of the political situation in Pakistan , they are certainly , not satisfied , because their demands are not meet....
I guess this person who did the assassination is well trained , well supported and well planned , because of the nature of Mrs. Butto`s injury . It is unlikely , that this culprit could find his way to a well guarded Lady , knowing that she is already prone to this dangerous mission , their might be some elements surrounds her , who has also a knowledge of these case. Nobody knows... ..We hope and pray that , a country like Pakistan , who is of course longing for reconciliation and peace for their country could survive from this very grievous situation they are in.

They were most likely Islamic extremists who do not believe Islam allows a woman to run a country.

They hated her because she was a woman who wouldn't keep her mouth shut about injustice in her country.

They are probably not fans of Musharraf either. They probably want a gov't more like the one in Iran----no Western influence allowed!

It is not shame for them as they have lived life like that for years, the people of Pakistan have not any chance so far to test the benefit of real democracy since the inception. she was not given all the protection she has asked for so it may anti Musharraf

If you will remember or research, her father had enemies and was put to death. She was thrown out for corruption. But her greatest enemies are probably Al Quaeda, and the Taliban. I believe that Musharraf had her killed so that he could stay in power. I think maybe Bush might have had a hand in it also.

Yes, there is that to consider..but I think in the reality of it..She was a woman going for power in a region that hates women. She could of helped women to have a education..to not be slaves...She could of helped bring peace...but she presented a threat to every Little thought those little minds held.
