The titanic should happen in order to teach many others about the importance of safety on board and having an adequate number of safety boats. Ships and Liners actually tried to improve after because of this incident. It's sad but we have to learn from history.

Edit: If not many people died, this wouldn't create an impact at all and safety regulations would have been unsafe either way then.

It was a horrible tragedy, and entirely caused by human arrogance and carelessness. Yes, it led to important safety improvements, but it shouldn't have been at the cost of so many lives.

I'm glad it happened even though it was a sappy movie it offered a great learning expeirence!!

If it didn't my uncle wouldn't have a hobby. He's obsessed w/ it. I also wouldn't have gotten to 3rd base @ the drive-in.

No because many people died, although the movie is very very sappy and popular.

i wish it never happened. so many people lost their lives, its so sad.

and it gave me the fear of going on a boat.

Yes. It was one of the sappiest movies ever made, and took about ten years off my life.
