Organized religion is for those who can't see God on their own, can't be God on their own.
(we all have the potential to be so much more than what we are now, and fear in general, and perhaps fear of death in particular, is what is holding us back)

You become God like. They are seperate things this idea of an objecive absolute and us a finite theoretical. Surely if one rejects god or "realizes" that god does not exist than one is left to guide themselfes, and likewise if one rejects a difference to punnishment then they could wear these same atheists shoes. But it will be the choice of that individual who does not fear death to do right as God perscribes not because of fear of God but becase of the rightness in the act. The question then becomes do gods say what should not be done because it is bad or is something bad because the gods say so.

Maybe. Death is nature's most emphatic statement of our material finitude. Maybe JLS thinks that conquering the fear of that finitude is in itself a reconciliation with the Infinite, which is what God actually is.

You become a fictional, anthropomorphization of transference and denial. What a great goal.
