I'm just curious to know where most of their revenue comes from.

Probably because that is the PROMOTIONAL rate - which is only valid for a short period of time (perhaps 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or even a year)...

And the fact that they will continue to charge you that rate even if you NEVER go - and you probably have to sign a contract which will NOT allow you to cancel your membership until after a year ;););););)

I'm a member of Planet Fitness and I have to say I have never thought about that. It's a good question though.

They charge for other services like personal trainers etc. Also tons of people join and never go. You can look up franchise info on line and see whatelse they offer.

I think there's a start up payment. They make $$ because lots of people go there cause it costs less than other places. I know someone that goes there, and they love it. I recommend it!
