u have to calibrate it by opening the latch in the front of the wii, press the red button, and then press the red button in the battery place in the remote

turn off the system like unplug it. Then plug it back in and wait a few seconds. Then start it up and that should do the trick. It worked for me.
The only problem with doing that is your going to have to reconnect to your wireless router
