Like Smarty Pants, my mom made an outfit for me. Actually more than one as she got on this sewing kick. Some of the actual patterns were pretty cool, but my mom was color blind.
Her color combinations I am sure were beautiful as she saw them. But as non-color blind people saw things not so much.
So it wasn't just one outfit, it was a series of browns combined with lime green, and orange and a pale shade of blue. Not attractive on a 5th grader. Nonetheless, I loved my mom, and she put her heart in it so I never breathed a word of discontent.

Lol, just about all of them. My mother had horrible taste in clothes!! Plus I grew up in the 80's and that just wasn't a good fashion era for anyone!!!

I feel your pain!
My mother used to think it was cute
to dress me in plaid pants/skirts
monogrammed shirts and sweaters
and the shoes that were supposed to make me not walk like a duck...
ahh..I was a popular kid.

Oh, noo... I have that one beat!
My Mom sewed me an outfit (pants and matching jacket) out of this god-awful material: green and yellow plaid .... and she has a picture of me wearing it, and I am smiling and holding up a toy Pillsbury Dough Boy ......

I had this hideous sweater once, and when I said hideous,man, i mean hideous. It was grey, but really nasty grey.It looked like someone had crapped all over it. I looked like a little boy in that.

2nd grade, my 2 front teeth are missing, my mother bought me this grey and white skin tight turtle neck and I cut my own hair the night before school pictures.....I shoudl post it on my 360 page....ugh...
