Yep, I think they were taunting the tiger but I don't think we will ever know for sure because the as yet unidentified brothers won't tell the truth anyway. I agree, the tragedy is that the tiger had to be killed. The people who work at the zoo were going to just tranquilize it but then the overzealous police force took over and killed her. It's bullshit.

I seriously doubt any sane person who sees a tiger (350 lbs of muscle) just walking around sans trainer/leash/fence would taunt the tiger. Animals don't rationalize like humans do in that taunting would draw attention to the victim but it would only mark it as potential moving prey rather than an annoyance to be eliminated.

What's the fuss about a few humans?
The world is over-populated. What's wrong with a tiger killing a few?
In terms of Global Warming: the more the better !

Since they've found the dead man's shoe in the tiger's enclosure, it's being theorized that yes, he was taunting the tiger by dangling his leg over the enclosure.
If so, he deserved what he got, the fool. I don't feel one bit sorry for him. My regret is that the tiger was shot and killed simply for doing what tigers do.
Edit: Lee, GREAT response Bro! :)

In my humble opinion, they should lower the barrier of the enclosure a dash, so any low life contemplating taunting a ferocious animal will get the rightful punishment.
As though , it is not enough to imprison a creature for entertainment.

Possibly, but its irrevelent. The animals was too low and it was able to get out.If she had taken a notion to jump it at any time she would have. Thank goodness it wasn't small children she went after.
