No. Go buy a Vulcan 1600 Classic or Nomad.

Without hassle? Ha! I wouldn't even begin to try that kind of swap. Last year I replaced a '79 KZ1000 shaft engine with an '81 KZ1100. Those engines are almost identical, but not quite. The swap works great, but it was not a job for the faint of heart. Even with an engine that's similiar in physical size, configuration and engine mounting, I wouldn't try it unless you have an above average mechanical ability and truely superior ability to reason out problems and above average ability to visualize, design and manufacture necessary items.

I have all that and while not beyond my abilities, the actual amount of time I spent doing was nothing compared to the amount of time I spent reasoning out problems, sometimes at night when I should have been asleep. My advice? Don't even try with such differing engines.

If you want a 1600, then you'll have to trade your 900 in for the bigger bike.
