either one of them will be plenty for those games...the Q6600 will overclock better and is just a better all-around CPU. CPU really has very little to do with gaming...it's more about the GPU

i have the q6600. the e6850 may have a higher clock speed, but it only has 2 cores as oppsed to the 4 the q6600 has. the q6600 is also a very easy chip to overclock. mine is currently running at 3.2 ghz from the stock 2.4ghz. It is a superior chip. Also make sure you have a just as powerful gpu or graphic processing unit. I have 2 8800gtx cards in sli. My comp specs are :

Falcon -NW Mach V

intel core 2 quad q6600 3.2 ghz
4gb memory
2x 250 gb hdd raid 0
2x nvidia 8800gtx SLI
vista ultimate x64 bit

Most games/programs these days utilize only 2 cores. I'm going for the Q6600 since I do video work and gaming. If you're more into gaming now, go for the E6850, since I assume you don't know how to overclock.

A good video card is also a necessity.
