Those guys above me are right when the hurricane seasons start but there hasn't been a hurricane that hit here for a long time. See, the way Florida is shaped, hurricanes usually weaken before they come to Jacksonville. So...tropical storms hit Jacksonville, if they even come....

The Atlantic Hurricane Season is the same for all locations that border the Atlantic Ocean including Jacksonville,FL. The official Atlantic Hurricane season is June 1- November 30. It doesn't limit the possibility of off-season tropical storm development. There actually was an off-season storm this year: Tropical Storm Olga. It wasn't a major storm though and in 2005 Tropical Storm Zeta formed off-season. As of December 27,2007 there are no tropical systems and none are expected to develop in the near future. Here's a good website to get accurate, up-to-date hurricane information. Check it often and they'll change their report when there's a chance for tropical development.
