I only see the shadow of Big Brother towering above UK and USA -- EU. Bhutto might inspire some voters to demand better. I am certain that I want something better.

Corp CEOs and faceless bureaucrats are not a good substitute.

Benazir Bhutto's death by assassination is tragic, and before her funeral, presidential candidates in the U.S.A., will be with their managers and handlers, attempting to make this sad event work for their political gain. Not one candidate, under the banner of either political party in the U.S., has the courage, guts, honesty, and fortitude Bhutto displayed. She was loyal to her flag and country, unlike one of the candidates in the U.S. presidential race. (www.newsbusters.org)

Dying can't be the criteria to decide any ones patriotism. Bhutto's violent and premature death could have been averted if things are not rushed in such great hurry to transform Pakistan instantly from entrenched Military Dictatorship to popular Democracy. With all his evils , Musharraf should have been heard before pressurizing to surrender all his powers. A very difficult situation has been created, the solution to which is far more difficult now.

Maybe you heard of a few of these American leaders:

John F. Kennedy
Robert Kennedy
Abraham Lincoln
Martin Luther King

My biggest fear is that with the polarized political situation in the U.S. we could be facing another election year like 1968. That is a frightening thought.

yeah, i believe politicians as a whole run a chance for this to happen. especially some one who is running for president or prime minister. for example Obama and Hillary, but i believe its a risk they are willing to take for what they believe in.

in the history of both countries they are many examples of this leadership!
