I'm answering this question mostly so that I can clear up any stupid ideas about Europe being "uncivilized" or "dirty"...or that America is the best country on the planet. Another dumb comment was that "Europe is so expensive", but the fact is that its the DOLLAR that is so low in value just now...and that makes it feel like Europe is expensive. Besides, there's a lot of countries in Europe, so you can't say that "Europe" is expensive. Italy is definately more expensive than Bulgaria, for example. You know, it's like comparing the cost of living between New York and.Guttenburg, Iowa! Jeezz...it's amazing what kinds of notions can come out of closed minds!
I was born and raised in America (lived there until I was 50 years old), but now I'm living and working in Europe. Every year my husband and I travel back to the U.S.A. in the spring for 5 weeks, and "somewhere in Europe" for two weeks in the fall. Therefore, I feel as if I can say with a fairly high degree of authority that both America and Europe have a lot to offer. Both America and Europe has its share of good points and problems. However, if I had to choose one or the other place for a vacation, it'd be America (mostly because the rest of my family is there).
Have a great day!

Do you mean Europe vs USA?
Or
Europe vs The Americas?
There is NO country called "America"
If you mean USA then Europe wins hands down for me. You simply cannot compare a continent of dozens of countries with a single nation state.
If you mean The Americas then it's a toughie. I would have to say The Americas just to the sheer size of the continent and the variety on offer, from New York, Grand Canyon etc... to Mexico City, Macchu Picchu in Peru, Iguazu Falls in Argentina, Patagonia etc....
Have a good day and a great New Year!

Europe.
My mother went to Florida USA and liked the people but disliked the food.
My daughter went to Texas USA and hated it, they treated her like a child, were quite rude and they could not understand her English language and she speaks a gentle RP with a slight Oxford accent, just like a news reader really and she found that the food was mostly inedible.
Europe is mostly lovely, stay away from capital cities if you can and you will find it relaxing and very pleasant.
Asia too is most welcoming and has the best food too.
