As the supreme court has ruled over and over again, time to file legal paperwork isn't arbitrary. If you don't file in time, you are plain out of luck.

The wall.
Same thing happened to me. I fought the law and the law won....I didn't have a chance as I was against a cop...and the Judge basically told me I had no chance of winning..before the trial started. Is that bias? I think so. End result..I lost. end of story.

Why would you not have appealled in a timely manner?
I think our legal system is one of the best in the world. We have steps that are to be following in a timely manner for the benefit of both the defendants and the taxpayer. When the rules are broken, and the steps are not followed, why do the taxpayers have the burden?

Here is a great site on Complaints About Judges:

Good luck and remember if you ever have to opt for a trial, you will have more chances with a jury than with the lone Judge, who may be extremely prejudiced. [Read "Black Judges on Justice"].

Your state has a Judicial Inquiry Board. If your judge truly did something unethical, they will investigate it.
