Someone brought up the issue about the world's starving children, and then another person said something about OVERPOPULATION to counteract.

I was like, what?

Since when was overpopulation an issue to us? I didn't know that. I guess I've been too busy with my own life to realize what's happening in the world.

A penny for your thoughts, people?

World overpopulation is everyone's problem

I worry about both feeding the starving (children and adults) and overpopulation, and I taught my children the same concerns. It is WRONG to say 'let the starving die' as an attempt to 'fix' the problem of overpopulation. Ovepopulation can be 'fixed' only through increasing education, making good birth control available, and seeing that EVERY CHILD BORN has a good chance to survive to adulthood WITHOUT HUNGER.

Overpopulation was always a huge problem...
Edit.
It contributes to global warming, and for every death, there are two new babies born (so they say...). Also, teen pregnancies add to the global population count a lot.

Don't forget that the more people there are, the more food, shelter, cars, etc. have to be made.

Obviously, we can't kill people to lower the population, it's seriously inhumain...
Oh yeah, look at China, they have a "two children" per household rule.

Check this website out, I guess this helps...

Overpopluation might not be a problem in the US and Canada but it is in other parts of the world. Not enough clean water or food for everyone. I agree with the other poster, it is everyone's responsibility to help. Children can't control where they are born.

the world isn't overpopulated. if you've ever worked in a fastfood joint you'll know that every year they throw away enough perfectly good food (just because it was an hour old) to feed the whole world. i mean all of them put together.

It has been. There are so many people in the world, and many of them are homeless and starving.......... Most people are to busy with their own problems, they don't realize what is actually happening!

This planet's population has exploded over the past 150 years. While we have at present the potential land-mass to support it, we do not have the agriculture to support it. Something's gotta give.
