If you look on the anal fin, that is your best bet. Males will have a stick-looking one called a gonodopium (I think that's how it's spelled). If your fish is still young, look for a black spot near the anal fin. Only females will have this, and is called a gravid spot. This is also used to tell how pregnant she is. A female that has a jet black gravid spot, won't eat, or will eat, but then spit it back out, and hides, and is somewhat more aggressive than normal, she is close to giving birth. I've seen females who are as colorful as males, so don't use that as a gender-teller.

the male has a large, fanned tail. the females also have a fan tail but not as big as the male. also, on their belly, they have a black spot.. when theyre pregnant the black spot gets bigger. my guppies are pregnant :) hah its kewl. <3

You will know when the female is pregnant cause she will get really big and she will get a black spot on her belly.

I don't think you can tell who's who.
The stomach will become big and red.I've had guppies before and they all got pregnant.
