In theory - yeah....

Theory - We expect them to serve their constituents.
Fact - They serve themselves.

Theory - We expect them to tell the truth.
Fact - They tell you what you want to hear - whatever it is.

Theory - They "want" to inform you about what's going on.
Fact - They tell you only what supports their position.

Theory - They want to hear from you.
Fact - They ignore you except when it supports their position.

Theory - They call for sacrifices to be made.
Fact - They pass laws requiring YOU to make the sacrifices.

Theory - They claim "support from the people".
Fact - The "people" are too stupid/lazy to vote them out of office.

Any more questions?

Technically, they are NOT public "figures"; that has a ring of "celebrity" to it--and they ARE NOT!

The people in government are SUPPOSED to be doing a SERVICE for "We The People"! Political office IS NOT supposed to be a career path seasoned with mega-bucks.

We should expect MORE from these people! Look at the polls of Americans and then look at how the "representatives" vote how THEY want to. That, My Friends, is a precedent for all sorts of injustice.

Example: 74% of the American public want Cheney impeached. 74%!!! And, except for Dennis Kucinich, Robert Wexler, and a few other patriots of the Constitution, impeachment has been buried in committee!
Nearly 60%--60% want Bush impeached and he's STILL making horrible, murderous decisions.

Expecting too much? NO! We should expect MORE from people SWORN to uphold the Constitution and all that entails!!!

Clearing history shows that for a Democrat President much is demanded. Else Congress would not have spent most of Clinton's presidency investigating whether or not if he lied about a blow/job in office. For Republican presidents little is demanded. The Republican party seems to be happy as long as the president is a Republican. Enough said.

Well I expect something, so far I have not got it.

All I want is someone to follow the constitution, Protect individual rights to Life, Liberty, and Property, cut the budget and cut taxes.

And I get nothing, I don't even care who or what they sleep with.

I think that we expect too much and accept too little.

We expect them to do more than make excuses and blame others.

No we do not!
They ask for the job and should be willing to do it.
That includes governing this country by the Constitution
