working with a group of women is horrible, they are sssoooo bitchy! i'm female and worked in a residential home, with all female staff, the best thing you can do is nod, laugh, shake your head but dont say a word, that way your not two faced or bitchy, but not left out from the "in crowd" pretty sad isnt it,when grown women b*tch so much? the losers are the ones who've got nothing better to do tha sl*g other people off.good luck, but dont get involved:-)

I feel that no company is better than bad company.
You will be considered a loser if you hang with losers or feel the need to fit in with them.
If there really is not a single decent person you could hang with instead, you should still consider staying as far from the gabbers as possible.
If you get "stuck" in a position to associate, you can stand up for yourself and declare that you prefer not to gossip, or you can change the subject. If you listen passively, you are still part of the problem by condoning their behavior.
You could either be sucked into their game; give them enough ammo to shoot you with; or be considered "guilty by association" and have your own positive merits overlooked.
This is a professional situation, not High School so you can rise above them by being the best person you can be... supervisors notice this kind of behavior also.

You can't join them without really being what they are.
You can act like what they are fired up about is not the least bit important and when they probe you, make analogy to the weather, and stay on that topic until you wear them down and they let you work for eight or nine minutes, then they will do it all over again anyway.

pretend your not listening. act oblivious, but dont bi*ch back at them saying thats not a nice thing to say or they'll turn against you. all my collegue friends from college are always bitching about this girl in my class, im friends with them and talk to them all the time, but when they start bitching about someone i just do my work, listen to my tutor, i dont laugh with them and im also not going against them, best thing really is to pretend you not aware of what they are saying!

Stay well out of these situations, you never know who's listening, I would rather be a 'nice' loser than a nasty b**** loser

I'd keep my mouth shut and not engage in idle gossip. I don't have to stoop to that level. Besides, I don't care much what others think of me. 2D

Diplomacy and the art of listening rather than talking is what I would use if this was the case.

To be honest I would keep out of it, these situations have a habit of turning on you if you're not careful!
