Carnacki The Ghost Finder by William Hope Hodgson - a series of short stories written in the first decade of the 20th century about a detective who investigates hauntings in a scientific manner.
and Japrocksampler by Julian Cope - an account of how Japanese musicians of the 60s and 70s took inspiration from the West to create their own kind of rock music.
Both immensely entertaining in their different ways.

I am also reading Twilight. I've just got to the part where Edward takes Bella into the forest and they've had their first kiss. I'm now on page 252. I hope I haven't spoilt it for you. Here in England I ordered this wonderful book from my local library way back in July. They phoned me on 17th December and said that they had bought a brand new hard backed copy for me to read. After reading this first book I simply must rush to my local bookseller and get him to order me a copy of the next installment. Hope you are enjoying this as much as I am. xxx

I've started reading Philip Pullman's Northern Lights which is being filmed as The Golden Compass and I'm really enjoying it. It's very descriptive and unusual and when I've finished I intend to watch the film and hope that it's not a let-down.
