Won't matter much at all. The Pats will go down as the biggest chokers in the history of the NFL is all.
Ohhhhh...how sweet that would be. This board would be void of Pats fans for a very very very long time.

It will still be an accomplishment in the record books for having the only 16-0 season, but it won't mean as much as winning the championship. If anything it will be a black mark that they had the talent to go undefeated then choked in the playoffs. Usually the Super Bowl loser is quickly forgotten, but if the Patriots are undefeated then lose in the big game, they would always be known for that.
Unfortunately I think that if they get to the Super Bowl they will win because none of the NFC teams can touch the top AFC teams this year.

a teams goal going into the season is to win the super bowl, if they go undefeated and then lose in the playoffs, the whole team and organization will probably feel like all of the 30 teams in the NFL that didn't win the super bowl either

Jerry M you're an idiot. Ask any player in any sport if they would rather go undefeated in the regular season or win the Championship. I guarantee they'd say win the Championship. And if they didn't their idiots too. And to answer the question, if they have a perfect regular season and not win the Championship, that regular season meant nothing. That's like eating an ice cream sundae without the icecream. . . . all filler.

No it will not matter because the goal is to win the superbowl without it what's the point? the superbowl is the culmination of the perfect season, you could have a 8-8 season, get in the playoffs and win the superbowl and they would say that's the perfect season. So no perfect season without superbowl is nothing.

Nope. They will always be looked at as the greatest team that didn't win the big one. And congrats to the '72 Dolphins. The champange is flowing tonight - the only undefeated team in NFL history!

No it won't matter at all if they become the first team in the history of the NFL ever to go undefeated in the regular season...doesn't mean a thing right absolutely nothing no one would ever remember or recognize such a remarkable feat...what are you high??

No! In the context of sports, winning is all that matters. If anything they will be ridiculed for going undefeated in the regular season and then being "upset" in the playoffs. It's all or nothing.

Yes it does. They are the only team in history to have a perfect 16 game regular season schedule. It's a RECORD. One that may never be equaled.
Of course, most fans would rather have the Lombardi trophy

The perfect season is somewhat better than a SB, just think how many teams do that. The SB will be like the cherry for the pie
Ummm...my name is Jerry.....Jerry Mump
My momma said that a perfect season is like a Super Bowl.......You'll never know who will end up with one
Ok guys your missing the big picture, I agree in sports winning is everything but sometimes every now and then comes an exceptional team / player that breaks the rules and when that happens it's special..........Brett's starting streak did you care for him 2 years back when he sucked and every one said he should retire?, no! but you care for him now, Mark's home run record, did you care that the Card's sucked and didn't went to playoffs that year?, no!, but you enjoyed every home-run,
how many of you remember (quickly) SB IV winner?........How many of you remember the last undefeated team?.....this type of thing will give you immortality......and immortality is forever, you are going to remember the 2007 Patriots win a super bowl or not (which I say NOT, hope that settles that I'm not a Pats fan) some of you may not understand it but some of you may........
and then again MARCUS is what DASHIZNI.. does
