I couldn't find wireless network icon under network screen (Windows XP)?

So, does the machine even have a wireless adapter? Either that or the driver is hosed.. check under the System then Hardware then Device Manager? Is there a wireless adapter even listed under network adapters or is there one under "Other" adapters which means you need the driver?
If all of these are NO, you need a wireless adapter.
