The nursing home can notify you; you need to talk to her about getting them back now. After she dies, it'll be a mess trying to get them. Her will may send them to someone and there is no reson to assume they will be auctioned.

Shermy - all good answers below. Personally if it was me - I would GO to the nursing home armed with some sort of legal document (from an attorney) attesting to the fact that the lady in question, is holding property belonging to your Mother. The just might pull some weight with the nursing home! Good luck. Hope it works out for you! CJ

Ask your family to call or e-mail you when your relative dies. The nursing home is probably to busy with patients, to notify you.

I would call the nursing home and explain the situation to them. Perhaps they could notify you, but without consent, I don't know if they legally could.

Go to the Nursing Home and advise them of this, give them your name and a place to be reached, But on the other hand if she did leave a will , there is nothing you can do.

First, you can write your request to the nursing home. Secondly, you can call at least once a week, and inquire about her condition. Thirdly, you could visit the lady in question, while she is still livid, and politely ask her about your Mother's things.

You need to contact her or the nursing home, or contact her closest relative requesting to be notified upon her death or the selling of her estate.
