How do you tell which is the "bad side" of fleece? I'm making a blanket and it's got a pattern on it, is it the side where the pattern is darker? Because, one side is darker but the other one looks more, well, blanket like per say. Like it would pill faster. Which do I want on the inside of the blanket?

When making a blanket, it does not matter which side you choose to use as the right or outside. Pick whichever one is "prettier". Generally, the right side is a bolder crisper print. To find the actual right and wrong side of fleece fabric, place your hands on the cut edge of the fabric about 4-6 inches apart. With both thumbs and index fingers, pinch the cut edge. Gently pull your hands apart. The cut edge of the fleece will curl towards the wrong side of the fleece.

While this is not important for a blanket, it would be very important if you were using the high tech fleece with the wicking woven in for outerwear. Would not want it to draw the water in towards your body but would rather draw it out away from your body.

Whichever side you decide to use for the blanket will turn out fine. I have made several of these myself and sometimes I will intentionally use the wrong side because it matches better.

Good Luck with your blanket!

The design should be sharper on the right side, but sometimes there is no wrong side. If it's a solid color, the right side would be fluffier, but again, both sides might be the same. If you think it would pill, you should do it the what you want.
