Got a few random unmatched tube socks? Then you can correct the problem with ease! Fill the foot of the sock with clean, scoopable cat litter. The kind with charcoal in it will work the best for you. Tie off the sock above the foot and insert your "deoderizer" into your shoe overnight. The clay will absorb moisture, the carbon will absorb smell, and the shape will help keep your shoes shaped for your foot!

If you want to add more charcoal (always a good idea), you can buy small packages either in the plant department of the local supermarket as a soil additive, or in the pet department as an aquarium filtering agent. I've used this technique sucessfully in DH's hiking boots for years.

Wash in the washer with a small amount of soap and 1/2 a box of baking soda. Let them wash about 4-5 minutes. Stop the washer and let it sit for another 20 minutes. Then take them out and rinse them in the sink. Do NOT let them spin thru the whole cycle. And let them air dry.

Buy powdered foot deodorizer.
Sprinkle a liberal amount in the shoes. You will need to put a small amount in them after each use.
The foot powder has fungicide in it. The fungus is the odor causer.
When I was in the military, I wore boots for days at a time. If it wasn't for foot powder, my feet would have rotted, literally.
