I need a phone that has picture messaging. Someone told me that MMS phones have picture messaging on it, someone else said that's not correct. I'm confused can someone who is 100% sure let me know. I thought MMS stood or Multi-Media Messaging. The person said yes thats correct but it could mean a message with a picture and text underneath with maybe a voice message attached also. Does MMS mean the phone has Picture messaging? Also, a website says a phone has downloadable ringtones, does that mean I can download music which I can use only/strictly for ringtones? Does anybody know what Nokia Express Messaging is? What do you thinik of these phones? Copy and paste this into URL....

To the person who asked what phone I have, what difference does that make? The phone I have does everything I need it to including picture messaging. I said I needed help with the technical jargon. I want another phone with picure messaging-clearly stated above, therefore it means I am about to buy another phone. What phone I have now is totally irrelevant. Why do people just answer questions for the sake of answering question? What did you bring to the table exactly?

MMS means picture messaging, yes. you basically need to have files of pictures on your phone, either uploaded onto it from your computer or downloaded from the internet or they come with the phone.
downloadable ringtones means you can go and download ringtones that you can use for your phone, but thats pretty standard.
nokia express messaging is like blackberry PIN messaging. they're sent to other nokia phones over the secure nokia servers and are always sent reliably, even though regular texting is pretty reliable.

all these things are pretty standard in phones these days so they're not really anything special.
the only thing i can really recommend is: 1) reading the quick start manual, which is explained in non-technical terms
2) calling tech support they can walk you through it but try calling them from another phone so you can actually use your phone while calling them
3) practice practice practice! you should play around with all the features so you can get familiar with them. phones are pretty much idiot-proof (no offense) so you can't really destroy them from using their features just by playing around.

just don't download things that cost money over and over if you try them out and they don't work. if you downlaoded them once, they're on your phone, if you can't find it, you can get tech support to help you or to give you a free re-download

Miss G. Your brand new phone has camera and headphones included in its package right. Then all these problems of yours are already solved.

The camera indicates that it can send Picture messages. While the headphones indicates that you can download music with it. Nokia phones are well designed for sending MMS unlike other brands like Sony (though Sony's features are better than Nokia), Samsung, etc...

MMS means Multi-Media Messaging. It includes txt messages, picture messages, templates, music, pictures, video, etc. Its more like generalization..

Ringtones are different from music. Ringtones have smaller sizes and its main purpose is just for alarm. You can download either a ringtone or music in any phone downloading website. In my phone I use music rather than ringtones because it's much cooler.

Nokia Express Messaging is more like Microsoft Outlook. Its not really that complicated to learn if you own a Nokia just try experimenting with it and you will figure it out (it took me 3 hours to figure out its uses).

Is Vista newer than Windows XP? -- Newer is not always better. Vista currently has a lot of bugs and glitches. Furthermore not all drivers will work with Vista. This means that if you have any existing device like a camera or mp3 player you will run into compatibility issues with Vista. I say XP is the way to go it is fairly stable and there wont be any compatibility issues. Is there a legal way to get either for free? -- Short answer is no. There are rarely any Microsoft products that can be had for free. If you want a free OS you should take a look at Linux. Just go to google and type up Linux, there are a zillion brands and they are all free, the catch is it is not as user friendly as windows.

Yes, MMS stands for MultiMedia Messaging. As far as what can be inside the message it depends on the phone's capabilities. I have sent MMS messages from my BlackBerry Pearl that have pictures and text in them, but not Video because as of now the Pearl does not do videos. On my previous Verizon RAZR I was able to send video because the phone supported it. So MMS has the capability to send pictures, music, videos and text, but it comes down to what the phone itself can do.

Just tell the phone company what you want and tell them you need a book that explains all the abbreviations and terms.

It would've been nice to know what phone you've got as some don't even support the programmes you mention
