X2 4000+ Brisbane is actually comparable to the Pentium E2160. Expect the E2180 to have a slight edge. But that edge widens if you overclock because Core2 Duo processors are better overclockers.

i would go with the intel. this class of processor is capable of being seriously overclocked just remember to get a good fan. i tend to find that amd chips seem to struggle when you put them under pressure.

the AMD seems LIL better, read the reviews on newegg and compare them to each cpus reviews
