rub on wax is pretty cool for a few days riding use, the best way to use the rubby stuff is put it on like deodarant, the best way to go, especially if you have a sintered base (easily explained: grooved and textured base from the factory) then appply with the direction of the base itself, usually from tip to tail, otherwise if it is not sintered and is a smooth base, apply the whole length of the board like a crayon, going from side to side instead of tip to tail, then, the most important part for sure: take a brillo or some type of scour pad and go tip to tail smoothing the wax that is collected on there, if you dont, it will build tons of friction and you will be miserable cause it will slow you way down. Da Kine makes a good rub on wax that comes with a brillo type pad and its only 8 bucks for it, it looks like a stick of the underarm stuff but it is a pretty fast, good all weather rub on :) if I use a rub on wax I usually do it the night before i ride by the way :) have fun!! p.s. nothin beats a good Grindrite tune and a nice hot wax twice a year :)

Rub On Snowboard Wax

For me, rub on wax is just a quick fix for a snowboard that is having a problem. I carry a bar of rub on wax and if I get snow sticking to the base I will flip it over, clean off the snow and rub on the wax right there on the slopes. I don't scrape any off - I just rub it on and start riding. It always solves the problem and I get the board hot waxed when I get a chance.

I have used spray on wax on skiis before, but I never liked it.

Good Luck

Rub the wax on the base of the board until it makes a bit of a haze. Then rub on the base with a cork to heat it up and work it in. I have also used a "Scotchbrite" pad in place of cork at the hill.
