danstewart - despite leading the league in passing attempts the patriots are in the top ten in the NFL in rushing.

answer man - you are wrong. some people actually used their brains, unlike you, and made some good arguments. im not retarded so i dont think the patriots are invinceable, like cowboys fans. i'm looking for good discussion here. thanks for putting in absolutely no effort. how the hell is it that you are a "top contributor". after this performance that really doesnt mean anything to me. you have ruined it for all the other "top contributors".

Why would they lose?

If the Colts offense is healthy in the AFC championship game, they have a chance to beat them. Their defense is much improved from last year, no longer giving up hoards of yards on the ground and they have shown resilency after losing Dwight Freeney (I thought they were done after that).

I dont think the Jags or Pittsburgh can hang with New England because of playcalling and their style of play. The Jags can run tho, so if the Pats d-line plays sub-par, Brady might not get on the field enough. Pittsburgh has lost their star running back and Davenport is OK, but not the home run threat or a 4:00 offense back either. The Colts are capable of acheving both these feats.

Defensively, the Pats are good but they have shown their age and lack of depth. Their secondary was banged up in a few games too, if any of them go down, Peyton and even Garrard or Big Ben can make them pay for it.

It'll come down to simply outscoring the Pats and if the weather is similar to the Jets game (despite the Colts previous poor performances) the game could come down to one or 2 possessions.

I'll admit, I'm a Pats hater but I expect that they will win the Super Bowl simply because of the talent they have amassed.

Why? I think going 19-0 in this era would be extremely difficult - not because the Pats aren't talented enough to do it, but because so many things can happen. I think they would be better off losing against the Giants and going into the playoffs with one loss. If they go undefeated in the regular season, not only will they have the normal playoff pressure, but the media will constantly remind them how they can become the first team to go undefeated since the Dolphins. To me, that's more pressure than they can handle. I think the fact that they have home field throughout the playoffs is actually a disadvantage. Here's why - if they are fortunate enough to make to the AFC championship, chances are that that game will be played in the freezing cold, and possibly snow. The Patriots strength this year has been their passing game. However, if it's 15 degrees and snowing, the playing field will be even no matter who they play. This will place the focus on the running game. Now, who do you have more faith in, the Jags Fred Taylor, or New England's RB?

If they lose, which I do not see happenning, it will be to the Jags in the Divisional round, or the Jags or Colts in the AFC Championship. These are the only teams who are complete and have the talent to play with the Pats. Maybe the Cowboys in the Superbowl, but they need to get healthy and start playing like they were earlier in the year. I do not see a team in the NFC beating either the Colts, Jags or Pats in the superbowl this year, none of the NFC teams are complete or have the talent to hang with the Pats. The Cowboys played the Pats when they were playing there best ball this year and got beat pretty good. I think the Pats go 19-0 and make history.

The pats will lose in the playoffs because the Universe is built upon maintaining a balance and the Pats upset that balance. No team convicted of cheating can win in the playoffs just like no disloyal entity can overcome his creator. Evidence: God is heaven, the devil in hell, and the pats crying after a 16-0 regular season and a 0-1 post-season. It pays to maintain the balance and thats why the Cleveland Browns will win the Superbowl.

If in fact the Pats go through the season undefeated the pressure will then multiply ten fold to continue to win games to achieve the ultimate, a victory in the Super Bowl. In addition the defense is aging and their ranking is deceptive if you take into account the level of competition the Pats have been playing. Jacksonville, who is playing well and Pittsburgh are very similar in style to Philadelphia who should have beaten NE if the coaching staff had done a better job of play calling in the crucial closing minutes of that game. It may be better to rest their stars against the Giants and if the lose the game so what, sometimes its better to lose a battle to keep from losing the war!

...They are not going to lose, ...and there is not one logical reason to think otherwise. I guarantee a superbowl ring again this year!...
They have played under pressure every game for the last several weeks trying to keep the perfect record. They are a team that is able to play week to week without looking at the "records to break" and "making history" but to look at each game , each team as an individual conquest. And they've done just that. They will beat the giants this weekend in the same fashion. They will go to the play offs as well ...and concentrate on the win, as if it were any other team ...any other game......and they are able to mentally do that. Thats why they will win this year.

Jacksonville can play better in the cold then New England. For the Pats home field advantage may not be an advantage. Besides the JAGS either Cleveland or Pittsburgh could go into Foxboro on a snowy windy day and easily upset the Pats. I can't see Tennessee, Indy, or SD being able to outplay the Pats in the cold through. So maybe you will get lucky and the 3 teams that can play better in the snow will eliminated, b4 they get to Foxboro.

I am sure that SD(looking strong lately) and Indy will give it their best shots. Peyton will not go down without a fight, and he has produced some great 4th quarter rallies. Do not overlook the Jaguars, because they have been coming on strong and are peaking at the right time. Dallas vs Green Bay?...I don't know who the NFC will send to the Superbowl, but I have a hard time seeing any of them beating the Pats. I think that Indy or Jacksonville have the best shots at beating New England ,if injuries and turnovers work against the Pats. I hate to say it, but I won't be betting any $$ against the Pats. Signed, a diehard Raider fan (we are playing for draft picks again...maybe a receiver or running back??)

16-0 O.K. now it's playoff time
They have been playing under extra pressure 2nd half of the season and something will give.
Refs will start calling offensive holding om Moss.
The refs are the best of the group during playoffs-Pro Bowl Refs
Really, no more Pats schinanigans.
Tougher competition - Pats have already peaked- Colts, Chargers, and / or Jaguars can beat them.
If Brady is off, bad weather?, they aren't the same
Weather- Refs - Weather - Refs - No Cheating - Injury....
#1 reason is that the Colts will dominate them with the total package that they posses - COACHING PROWESS

I dont think they will ,but the Jags are peaking and can run all over those old linebackers. The Chargers got a bone to pick with the Pats for last years game (great game too). And the Colts caust the have the firepower to beat anybody.

I am a Raider fan , but Tom Brady is hella tight and think he will win another ring .
