Until you get used to radians, you will need to convert back and forth between radians and degrees often in trig class.

Lucky for us, the conversion formula is really easy.

To convert from degrees to radians, we multiply the angle measurement given by π/180.

To convert from radians back to degrees, we multiply the measurement given by 180/π.

I will do one of each for you as your guide.

Convert rads into degrees

(a) π/3 rads

π/3 rads times 180/π = 60 degrees

NOTE: Both π's cancelled out. I then divided 180 degrees by 3 degrees and that equals 60 degrees.

Got it?

==========================

Convert degrees into rads

(a) (36 degrees/1) times π/180 = π/5 rads

NOTE: Since π and 180 degrees both equal the same angle, it's the same thing as multiplying by 1, (called the multiplicative identity). This is the reason why I placed 36 degrees over 1. See it? Later on in trig, you'll see fewer angles in degrees and more in radians, so force yourself to make the switch.

You got the first-two letter (a) correct.

Follow my steps and check for yourself to see if the rest are correct.

They are all right, except for 2b.

To convert radians into degrees, you multiply the number in radians by 180/π.

To convert degrees into radians, you multiply the number in degrees by π/180.

108π/ 180 is 3π/5, not π/1.6

everything looks good, but for b on the second part id put 3π/5 instead of π/1.6
it's not usually good to leave decimals in the denominator

correct but 108 degrees = 3π/5 radians.

Both of them are right;

b)108 degree = 3π/5

You're doing great, just one tiny mistake there. :) Keep it up!

everything is right except for part b)108
it should be pi/.6 not 1.6
good job on everything else!
